Director, Advanced Practice Providers
The Director, Advanced Practice Providers oversees the overall leadership, direction, supervision, and orientation of Advanced Practice Clinicians (APRNs and/or PAs) in specific area/department. Responsible for oversight of credentialing, competencies/protocols, education, compliance, and expectations of patient services delivered by clinician to comply with Florida Board and University regulations.
Core Job Functions:
- Provides leadership administration, direction, and clinical management of Advanced Practice Clinicians.
- Monitors state-mandated regulatory and accreditation documentation for compliance of all clinicians.
- Provides clinical orientation for new hires, and necessary educational opportunities for other Advanced Practice Clinicians.
- Schedules staff to provide adequate clinician coverage.
- Performs chart review/audits to ensure staff compliance to hospital required documentation.
- Collaborates with all physicians in completing APRN/PAs yearly performance evaluations.
- Oversees the development, implementation, and revision of policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Administers new program implementation, such as new applications and staff documentation updates.
- Performs formal and informal teaching related to any assigned topics.
- Attends staff and hospital committee meetings to stay abreast of operational plans and advanced practice evidence-based clinical models.
- Assists administrators/physicians in development of job descriptions and MD/APRN Collaborative Agreement Protocols for newly established APRN/PA positions.
- Serves as liaison between the medical and nursing staff, and other healthcare team members.
- Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.
Core Qualifications:
- Education: Master's degree in relevant field required
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required
- Certification and Licensing: Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements
