Schedule

This is a part-time day/evening flex position with varying shifts depending on department needs with every other weekend rotation. Possible shifts include: 7:00am-7:00pm 7:00am-3:00pm 11:00am-11:00pm 11:00am-7:00pm 3:00pm-11:00pm

Position Summary

Under general supervision, performs routine customer service function including registration and information services, patient payments, assistance with performance improvement activities, assist facilitating patient beds and the transfer center in the bed control department.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collects and processes registration information for new and returning customers.
  • Verifies and documents insurance information.
  • Communicates necessary information to site of service.
  • Responds to routine inquiries related to scope of services available, policies and procedures.
  • Consults with related departments in order to coordinate efficient and expedient access to services.
  • Manages initial call intake for department; routes calls and messages appropriately and efficiently.
  • Distributes information related to departmental activities, policies and other material to affected areas/departments.
  • Receives and processes patient payments for medical and other services.
  • Verifying all ECARE AMP alerts are resolved 100% before leaving at the end of each shift.
  • Provides customer service orientation/training to staff as requested.
  • Receives, documents, and routes more complex complaints received at the departmental level.
  • Conducts primary research of complaints received.
  • Educates other staff on complaint management processes and protocols.
  • Inputs data using automated and manual systems.
  • Reviews and evaluates primary performance data.
  • Assists with staff education in the area of performance improvement.
  • Participates on departmental and/or interdepartmental performance improvement teams.
  • Conducts Environment of Safety Rounds to assess for safe physical unit operations for patients, families and staff. Enters and follows up on work orders for repairs or equipment moves.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the following categories:
    1. college coursework in business administration, communications, public relations or a closely related field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
      • 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
      • Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
      • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
      • Bachelor's degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
    2. responsible work experience in customer services, public relations, office administration, business and financial operations, healthcare administration or other closely related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of Hospital/Clinic experience.
