About the Role
The primary purpose of the Barista position (Retail Services) is to assist in station set-up, serving quality beverages and food to staff, students, and visitors in retail services in a professional efficient manner; and to maintain an organized and clean serving/dining environment.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do
- Sets up designated food stations, prepares customer orders and services customers in an efficient manner within Retail Services.
- Carries out various cleaning and sanitation functions. Cleans and restocks work area and sanitizes equipment.
- Provides superior customer service in compliance with University Hospital's Mission Statement and Five Star Service Program. Welcomes customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions and accepting orders and payments.
- Prepares beverages as requested by guests. Prepare food such as baked goods, grinding coffee, brewing coffee and tea.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
- Must have at least one (1) year of relevant barista experience in a high volume setting which includes food and beverage preparation.
- Ability to read, write speak, and understand English fluently to perform the duties of the position required.
- Effective verbal and written communications.
- Customer service and hospitality-oriented.
- Attention to detail with appropriate follow through.
- Ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Ability to establish effective relationships within a multi-cultural environment.

Compensation (NJ Job Transparency Law)
In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is $17.63 - $18.67.
