Summary

Responsible for supervision of Environmental Services Workers. Maintains consistent workflow and have the ability to assign staff needed on the following areas: occupied patient rooms cleaning, discharged patients room cleaning, nursing areas, work requests orders, public and private restrooms, public areas, linen services, trash and hazardous waste disposal, floor care and special projects. Serves as a liaison and first point of contact for all internal and external issues related to EVS operation and services provided to patient, staff and visitors. Ensure that the staff has the proper equipment, supplies chemicals and tools. Shall be present and visible on the inpatient floors, rounding on units, patients and nursing leadership.

Qualifications

Education/Qualification High School Diploma or equivalent At least one (1) years of leadership experience; leadership in an Environmental Services position preferred Previous experience in a hospital environment preferred Experience using LEAN or other similar performance improvement methods to transform operations preferred Must complete GWUH Hazardous Materials Training for Generators within 60 Days of hire Skills Excellent customer service skills Strong oral and written communication skills Strategic planning skills Ability and experience to interact as a business partner to other departments and executives within the hospital and with external customers/partners
