Position Summary: Purchases supplies and equipment for hospital departments and the Storeroom/CS inventory.
Job Duties: Orders requested products from vendors; communicates order status to requesting departments. Coordinates with the CPO buyers for final purchase order numbers. Monitors backorders and obtains substitutes from other sources in emergency situations. Monitors requests for contract compliance, pricing and reduced or free freight. Maintains computer files with updated information. Assists with vendor program and visitation compliance.

Qualifications Education, Training, Experience and Licenses/Registrations Required: 1. High School Diploma or GED desired. 2. Previous hospital or supply experience preferred Physical and Sensory Requirements: 1. Ability to read, write and converse in English 2. Ability to communicate with staff, support agencies, vendors and others 3. Ability to cope with and remain calm under stress 4. Ability to tolerate prolonged standing and sitting 5. Ability to respond to telephones and other auditory stimulation 6. Ability to discriminate color 7. Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) 8. Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions 9. Bending, lifting (0-50 pounds), grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing and pulling (up to 100 pounds) and squatting
