We are currently seeking a Nursing Services Manager to join our talented and caring team. Our ideal candidate will possess strong multitasking skills, great communication skills with the ability to engage positively with patients, staff, families, providers, etc., must work well under pressure with several competing priorities and maintain professional at all times.
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the delivery of quality nursing care for all patients on all units. The Nurse Manager will adjust staffing as necessary for all shifts as appropriate. The Nurse Manager will oversee all unit activities including, but not limited to, admissions, discharges, milieu management, adherence to unit schedule, crisis intervention, restraint and/or seclusion and relieving for break or meals. The Nurse Manager provides on-the-spot and on-going education to employees, assists the hospital with constant regulatory readiness, and participates in regulatory site visits as required. The Nurse Manager manages the Registered Nurses and Mental Health Technicians working on the unit as part of the nursing team to include day-to-day personnel issues, orientation and on-boarding of new staff, 90-day and annual performance evaluations, etc.

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing with a bachelor’s degree. If no BSN, must be currently pursuing with the ability to obtain within two (2) years of hire/transfer.
Experience: Requires five (5) years experience as a Registered Nurse. Require one (1) year of nursing management experience. Requires two (2) years of psychiatric nursing experience. Knowledge of current nursing procedures, the nursing process, medications and their correct administration.
Licensure/Certification: Current NC State Registered Nurse (or compact state) AHA CPR & First Aid
Skills: Demonstrated leadership, communication, teaching and supervisory skills. Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnoses, and interventions with patients. Ability to accurately administer medications and treatments. Ability to monitor and record response and side-effects to medications and treatments. Ability to safely implement Special Treatment Procedures. Ability to assist with education of patients and families in medication and care management. Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families. Knowledge of human behavior or principles of psychology including therapeutic relationships & processes, age specific growth & development, limit setting, crisis & behavior management.

Talking. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word accurately and sometimes loudly.
Hearing. Receiving the nature of sounds of no less than 40 db loss @ Hz 1000, 2000 Hz, with or without correction, and to receive detail communications through oral communication and to make fine discriminations in sound such as when making adjustments on machine parts.
