The Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the day-to-day functions of the Pharmacy Department. The Pharmacy Operations Manager will be responsible for maintaining compliance with TSBP rules pertaining to both Class C-S and Class F Pharmacies. The Pharmacy Operations Manager acts as liaison for nursing, medical staff, and other departments regarding pharmacy operations. In the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Operations Manager may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the Director of Pharmacy. STHS McAllen Pharmacy Operations Manager would oversee any Free Standing Emergency Department under the responsibility of STHS McAllen.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of four years of hospital experience, with supervisory experience preferred.
2. Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy services, with an emphasis on sterile compounding and diversion prevention.
3. Significant experience in the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automated dispensing and pharmacy information systems.
4. Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, required.
5. Effective verbal and written communications skills are required.
6. Ability to effectively participate on an interdisciplinary team or committee.
7. Demonstrated leadership skills, including team building, and coaching/mentoring with the ability to motivate and engage others.
8. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
Education / Licensure:
BS or Pharm.D. from a School of Pharmacy
Current license in good standing with Texas State Board of Pharmacy
Two years supervisory/management experience or demonstrated leadership skills in project management and/or systems implementation
