The UHS Behavioral Health (BH) Managed Care Department is hiring a Director - Tricare/VA Support Services to promote the maximization of programs in the UHS Behavioral Health Division that serve military personnel, family members and participants covered by TRICARE and the VHA. This role will also assess opportunities for service offerings and collaborate with Behavior Health facilities to develop and execute initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identify UHS facilities that would be well advised to work with TRICARE and the VA. Assists those facilities in making contacts, completing MOU processes, accreditation processes, and contract negotiations, as well as customer service initiatives that are specific to military need and expectations.
  • Monitor correspondence and facilitate the completion of plans of action by hospital personnel working with TRICARE/VA to insure they are in the position to be providers of choice for the military installations in their area.
  • Conduct marketplace research to identify trends and areas that the company needs to proactively explore and/or develop into programs.
  • Conduct “mock” TRICARE surveys of facilities pending upcoming TRICARE visits.
  • Support UHS facilities with claims adjudication, recoupment actions and government audits.
  • Personally attend National Military Conventions and events as a UHS representative.
  • Prepare accurate, timely professional reports. Keep appropriate individuals informed on current operation changes/problems. Conserve time in communication.
  • Establish short and long range objectives with clear, specific plans to accomplish them. Effectively manage his/her time relative to work priorities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience in TRICARE/VA healthcare or military administrative services. Military service background is preferred.

  • Strong management skills including collaboration, creativity, and diplomacy
  • High level organizational, verbal, interpersonal, and customer service skills with the capacity to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, managers, and regulatory agencies
  • Astute comprehension of written and verbal communication
  • Discernment in planning own work, formulating recommendations and making decisions
  • Travel up to 50-60%
