Food Services Team Leader | St Andrews Hospital

The Team Leader position is responsible for the efficient delivery and supervision of all front of house activities in the food services department. You will be responsible for basic meal preparation, portioning and serving of hot and cold meals including dishwashing, assembly, distribution and collection of meal trays to customers.

• As a hands-on leader you will supervise and coordinate all front of house activities to achieve a high standard and optimise customer hospitality experience

• Ensure a high standard of hygiene and safety throughout the food services department that complies with the hospital food safety program

• Ensure all rostered staff are present and leave is replaced to ensure full coverage

• Work as a team member and provide flexibility to rotate through all shifts and areas in the role of Team Leader

What makes a difference for us?

  • Previous experience in a supervisory role in a food service and/or hospitality environment providing customer service
  • Demonstrated understanding and competencies in manual handling training, chemical use, hand hygiene and food safety
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills that demonstrate ability to communicate (written and verbally) effectively within a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage several tasks at a time, using initiative and flexibility
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to read, measure accurately and perform basic math skills
  • Basic computer/keyboard and telephone etiquette skills
  • Basic computer literacy in Microsoft Office
  • These roles require a degree of physical fitness as you will be working on your feet all day. This may include lifting kitchen equipment and/or pushing heavy trolleys throughout the kitchen and hospital environment
