Community Support Worker | Community Mental Health | Cairns

Provide support to the practitioners and families who access the Family Support and the Community Support Service.

Your key duties will involve but not limited to:

  • Act as the first point of contact for families referred to the Family Support Program (including Child and Adolescent Counselling)
  • Processing enquiries and referrals into the program from a variety of sources and, in consultation with the Local Service Manager and team members, undertake assessments processes to determine eligibility.
  • Assist families to access support services including practical and crisis support where necessary.
  • In consultation with the Local Service Manager and team members: Develop and initiate activities delivered from a community hub that promote personal and social development and a sense of belonging and wellbeing in the community.
  • Develop and initiate activities to improve the quality, efficiency, and networking of community services.
