Regional Manager Safety, Support and Assurance

The Regional Manager Safety, Support and Assurance will serve as the Subject Matter Expert for day-to-day UGE Compliance, policies and procedures in the areas of safety, regulatory and security. This position will engage in new station transitions and startups as well as provide continued station support by conducting regular station audits and visits both in person and virtually. The Regional Manager Safety, Support and Assurance will promote all components of UGE's Safety Management system (SMS) including promoting safety policy and safety assurance as well as acting as an ambassador for a positive UGE safety culture.

How You Will Make an Impact:

  • Monitor UGE compliance in all areas including but not limited to, Safety, Security, OSHA, Regulatory, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as outlined in all Safety manuals (RSM, RGOM, GSM, etc.)
  • Extensive and short notice travel as well as the availability to work nights and weekends when needed.
  • Ability to utilize available resources to self-learn and stay up to date with current policy's, requirements, and procedures as well as the ability to self-manage and incorporate critical thinking skills into everyday work.
  • Complete UGE Comprehensive Internal Audit in the areas of Safety, OSHA/Facilities, Regulatory, Security Searches, RON aircraft cleaning, and Cargo. Implementing and assisting with corrective action plans when needed.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and can use resources to create supporting documents that are presented to the field and leadership in the form safety briefings, safety flashes, safety bulletins, monitor slides, content manuals, safety calendars, training, safety initiatives, etc. with limited need for edits.
  • Ability to organize and balance multiple concurrent initiatives/assignments while maintaining a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and timely delivery and to be flexible and change priorities on short notice
  • Host Incident/Accident review meetings as well as supporting the GM with required supporting documents, actions and or plans (i.e., ARB, SRA, CAPA's, investigations, ERS submissions, drug screens, etc.) Follow up and follow through with all actions until closed.
  • Assist with conducting safety risk assessments for new/modified processes, equipment, policies, hazards identified, etc.
  • Provide timely and accurate guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skills needed to accomplish a task, solve problems, or address challenges.
  • Assist stations with development and upkeep of Location Safety and Emergency response plans.
  • Participate in and contribute to monthly Safety Round Table discussions and collaborative meetings with business partners or internal UGE departments.
  • Participate/provide data for local monthly station safety meetings either virtually or in person.
  • Conduct Virtual Safety Visits with stations. Topics discussed and reviewed include but are not limited to: AC Damages, Injuries, GSE damages, Safety Preparedness, Audit compliance, Document review, Review of GM checklist items, etc.
  • Plan and participate in UGE Safety Promotion initiatives.
  • Identify and present to senior leadership areas of opportunity for improvement or gaps in current policies, procedures, or processes.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings as well as periodic assigned region meetings, prepare to provide guidance and or input as a resource or SME.
  • Must deliver high quality results when contributing as an individual or member of a team, including when under tight time constraints and/or while dealing with competing priorities.
  • Other duties as assigned by Safety Manager.

What You Will Bring:

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Two years of airline or ground handler experience required
  • Two years of airport BTW operations experience or equivalent preferred
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of SharePoint, Excel and MS Office suite of products preferred
  • Knowledge of Safety Management System preferred

  • Strong time management skills, including self-management
  • Ability to be flexible and change priorities on short notice
  • Availability on some nights and weekends may rarely be needed
  • 75% travel

Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000. ADA Specifications:

  • Ability to operate a computer to enter and retrieve data
  • Ability to lift up to 70lbs on a consistent basis
  • Ability to pass all pre-screening clearances (including fingerprinting, a background check, and drug screen)
