As the face of our customer, here's what you will do:

Whether our customers are traveling for business or pleasure, you are the professional in the airport that crafts important connections and encourages an environment where everyone feels welcome, valued, and respected. You will be interacting with our domestic and international customers in our lobbies and at gates, helping them with ticketing, baggage, greeting customers as they start and end their journey and doing it with a smile. You will provide friendly, professional, confident, and insightful service to help resolve customer travel issues and make their experience memorable.

Job Overview And Responsibilities

  • Entails working with the ground handler to supervise check-in, ramp and baggage operations for the arrival and departure of United flights and ensuring vendor compliance with all security requirements and regulations
  • Meeting, boarding flights and assisting customers wherever required
  • Other duties including back-office administration and full operational supervision to ensure the smooth and professional service to our customers, both internal and external

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Unless subject to a collective bargaining agreement in the country to which an employee is being transferred, the employee retains their original date of employment and company seniority in the new country. Upon transfer, the employee is removed from payroll and benefits in former country and appropriately placed in the salary range and payroll / benefits systems of the new country. Human Resources will assist with the terms and conditions of employment in light of labor agreements, collective agreements, country work rules and labor laws. In the new country, the employee is reinstated using the same employee id, date of employment and company seniority dates.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent school leaving certificate
  • Proven track record of reliability
  • Professional image and appearance
  • Strong communication skills
  • Conflict resolution and decision making, with the ability to lead
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken)
  • Flexible approach to work standards and duties
  • Must be able to live and work in Spain/EU without visa sponsorship or support
  • Must be able to work any shift/any day including holidays, weekends and/or nights in a 24 hour operation
  • Attendance is required at work location
  • Public contact / customer service experience
  • A minimum of 2-3 years previous work experience in airport operations
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred Qualifications

  • International GSC qualified
  • Experience leading Union personnel
  • Fluency in other European languages (written and oral)
  • Working knowledge of the region preferred
