Center Freight On Road Operations Supervisor I

The Center Freight On Road Operations Supervisor I coordinates inbound and outbound UPS Freight Forwarding truck movements between the UPS facility, the airline carriers and customer facilities.

He/She will work closely with Central Dispatch to oversee and monitor truckloads to ensure lockouts and appointment schedules are met.

He/She will conduct ride-a-longs with drivers and training to ensure safe driving methods are adhered to. This position ensures freight operations comply with governmental regulations and UPS policies and procedures.

He/She monitors and reviews pickup and delivery status and interacts with customers to address delays and service failures. This position maintains training records and shipment status information in the FF systems.

He/She supervises specialists and hourly employees within the department.

This position reviews documents (i.e., manifests) to ensure procedures and compliance requirements are met.

This position will be 90% on road supervising between the UPS Bensenville facility and O'Hare International Cargo buildings. On occasion, it will require visiting customer sites.

It requires the applicant to be flexible with rotating shifts. Primarily working during weekdays and nights and occasionally weekend coverage.

  • This is not a remote position. Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to self-relocate – Required.

Pay Range:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $53.280.00/year to $86.580.00/year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate's work experience. Hired applicants are offered annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, subject to applicable eligibility requirements. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
