What success looks like in this role:

• Architect, design, and develop robust, scalable data platforms, pipelines, and applications combining data processing, transformation, and business logic.
• Lead design and architecture reviews, establishing coding standards, best practices, and cost/performance optimization strategies.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, architects, and stakeholders to align data engineering initiatives with application design, business, and analytics needs.
• Implement automated testing, validation, monitoring, and deployment frameworks to ensure reliability and operational stability.
• Drive deployment strategies and optimize solutions in cloud-native and distributed environments (Databricks, Spark, Kubernetes, etc.).
• Mentor and support team members through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Stay current with emerging tools, platforms, and best practices in data engineering, application development, and cloud technologies.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

• 5+ years of professional experience in software development and/or data engineering, focusing on scalable, data-driven applications.
• Strong background designing, developing, and architecting applications that integrate complex data workflows and business logic.
• Expertise in Databricks, Spark, or similar distributed platforms.
• Proficiency in Python, C#, Scala, SQL, and experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, with emphasis on performance and scalability.
• Deep knowledge of data engineering principles, data modeling, and building reliable pipelines (ETL/ELT).
• Strong grasp of software architecture practices: microservices, APIs, and integration patterns.
• Solid cloud experience (Azure, AWS, GCP) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps/automation practices.
• Proven ability to lead design and architecture discussions across application and data layers.
• Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills to mentor teams and guide technical decisions.
