Udemy is a global company headquartered in San Francisco, with additional U.S. offices in Denver and Austin, and international hubs in Australia, India, Ireland, Mexico, and Türkiye. This is an in-office position, requiring three days a week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) and flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

• Leading a team of engineers as part of the wider Organization Success portfolio of teams that are focused on serving our Enterprise customer needs.

What you'll be doing

• Working with your engineering team along with your cross-functional partners in product, design, data science, product marketing, and others to build a roadmap, deliver features, manage execution, and identify areas for development.
• Using skills like driving results, analytical problem solving, systems thinking, decision making, and active listening to effectively lead engineering teams.
• Growing your team, their careers, and tracking their performance through 1-on-1s and annual reviews.
• Working with senior management to strategize resource allocation.
• Prioritizing execution of tasks and projects, delegating to your technical leads and other team members as appropriate.
• Incorporating feedback from your team and managers to continuously improve your team's execution and ability to achieve your team's goals.
• Extending your networking skills within and beyond the organization - maintaining key relationships and providing mentoring to your team.

What you'll have

• 1-3 years of experience managing software engineers with a focus on the constant flow of feedback and career development.
• Experience defining strategy, roadmaps, and prioritizing work in your area to deliver business value.
• Experience working in a highly collaborative environment that involves product managers, design, and stakeholders.
• Experience designing scalable systems with an emphasis on microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Experience designing scalable, secure, and performant APIs (REST, GraphQL).

Experience with web application development in technologies such as HTTP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
