Mechanical Subject Matter Expert with a focus on Gas and Steam Turbines. Normal career level cap position within the engineering hierarchy. General analysis and implementation of generation Mechanical technologies for application to Vistra Operations and Maintenance. Manage programs and projects to enhance the commercial availability of new technologies and enhancement to existing technologies.

Technical support for the fossil fleet operations and maintenance for rotating equipment

Perform root cause analysis

Provide innovative engineering solutions for difficult problems

Contributes to economic justification/analysis for projects

Participate in and lead special projects or teams

Individual contributor in Mechanical Rotating Equipment Engineering

Provides technical support on a fleetwide basis, specific to turbines

Maintain effective working relationships. Be able to explain technical information to ensure work/repairs completed correctly.

BS or greater in an Engineering discipline

Licensed Professional Engineer or meets additional years of experience requirements

Demonstrates and applies knowledge of current and pending regulatory, code and general industry issues to resolve Vistra's interests.

Proficient with technical evaluation processes.

Proficient in fossil, solar, battery, or nuclear plant technologies

Minimum 8 years experience in power plant operations / engineering or comparable industries

Demonstrates application of fundamental scientific principles

Communication –Must be able to effectively communicate with peers, management and/or represent Vistra's interests to outside agencies

Able to execute projects/strategies with some oversight.

Demonstrated high performer through consecutive evaluations or work history for external candidates.
