Interface Engineer
Responsible for managing and coordinating all interfaces between Package 7 (Jetty) and other project packages, ensuring alignment of design, construction, and schedule, while identifying and mitigating interface risks to support successful project delivery.
Integration between offshore jetty structures and onshore systems
Interface between conveyor system and ship loading facility
Coordination of marine logistics, vessel operations, and construction works
Alignment with port, safety, and operational requirements
Advisory Role (T&T Positioning)
- Provide independent oversight and advisory support on interface management;
- Ensure contractors fulfil their interface coordination responsibilities;
- Avoid taking direct execution responsibility, focusing instead on:
- Coordination
- Monitoring
- Assurance
Qualifications
Engineering professional with experience in multi-package infrastructure or EPC projects, skilled in interface coordination, technical integration, and stakeholder management, preferably with exposure to marine/jetty or bulk handling facilities.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in engineering, construction, or infrastructure projects;
- Proven experience in multi-package / EPC projects with complex interfaces;
- Experience in marine, port, jetty, or bulk handling projects is highly preferred;
- Familiarity with conveyor systems, jetty structures, or offshore/onshore integration is an advantage;
- Experience working in a PMC / consultancy role (e.g. Turner & Townsend environment) is desirable.
- Strong understanding of multi-disciplinary engineering interfaces (civil, structural, mechanical, electrical);
- Ability to review and coordinate engineering drawings, specifications, and design deliverables;
- Knowledge of construction sequencing and site coordination;
- Familiarity with interface management tools (Interface Register, Interface Matrix);
- Understanding of project lifecycle (design, procurement, construction, commissioning);
- Basic knowledge of contracts (FIDIC) is an advantage.
- Strong ability to manage cross-package coordination and dependencies;
- Experience in interface risk identification and mitigation;
- Ability to integrate interface activities into project schedules and programmes;
- Strong organizational and issue-tracking capability.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written);
- Ability to coordinate with:
- Client representatives
- Contractors and subcontractors
- Design consultants
- Strong facilitation skills for interface meetings and conflict resolution;
- Ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- High attention to detail and structured thinking;

- Ability to work under pressure in complex, fast-paced environments;
- Good judgement in escalating critical issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
- Experience with project management tools (e.g. Primavera P6, MS Project) is an advantage;
- Familiarity with document management systems (e.g. Aconex, SharePoint);
- Ability to manage and maintain structured interface tracking logs.
- Certifications (Preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE/Ir.) – advantage;
- Project Management certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) – desirable;
- Basic HSSE awareness (K3) – preferred for site-based roles.
- Language Requirements
- Fluent in English (written and spoken);
- Bahasa Indonesia proficiency is essential for local coordination
- Mandarin Language is more advantage.
