Engineering Assistant

The Engineering Assistant is involved in the engineering and administration of projects, in the Special Projects Division (SPD) or in other Business Unit departments. Essential duties and responsibilities include: assisting in obtaining & reviewing information & approvals for processing of shop drawings, product data & samples; assisting in managing other aspects of communication including submission & responses for Requests for Information (RFI's); assisting in preparing estimates for changes in the work including review of Change Order requests from subcontractors; studying contract drawings, specifications, & shop drawings to ensure proper coordination & installation; assisting in the maintenance & updating of contract documents, electronic web-based documents, & project logs; distributing information required for construction to appropriate parties; assisting engineering to ensure that materials & equipment are released for fabrication or manufacture in time to meet the construction schedule; and assisting in the preparation of final records for the project including close-out documents, Operations/Maintenance Manuals, etc.

Field Engineer

The Field Engineer position will be assigned to the field operations team and will assist in obtaining, evaluating, & coordinating all information needed to construct the project in accordance with the contract documents & to assure that the work meets all safety standards, is within schedule requirements, & is constructed to the highest level of quality possible. Essential duties and responsibilities include: performing line & grade work for building layout & control as required; assisting in the implementation of the site safety program as required & ensuring subcontractor compliance with Turner safety standards & all applicable safety codes & regulations; assisting in the maintenance of contract documents & electronic web-based documents for field operations; assisting in the preparation of Daily Construction Reports (DCR's); reviewing all work as it is being placed to be sure it is accurate within accepted tolerances; reviewing contract drawings, specifications & shop drawings to ensure proper coordination & installation; and assisting in the preparation of project as-builts.

The salary range for this position is estimated to be 72,000.00 - 80,000.00 USD annualized.

Qualifications:

  • Two years of college education from an accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction, or relevant education
  • Building construction, engineering, or equivalent experience, preferred
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work within a team
  • Demonstrate initiative and desire to learn
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
  • Proficient with computer applications, data entry, and Microsoft suite of applications
  • Basic understanding of scheduling programs, desired.
