The Food Service Lead is responsible for ensuring that all food items are prepared and presented according to True North standards and in compliance with all food safety practices. Ensures that all food items are properly portioned and presented timely, as well as resolving any guest concerns. This role is responsible for maintaining proper inventory to meet guest demand and directing other team members.
Duties and responsibilities include: updating and maintaining weekly and monthly cost reports and sales data; covering KKC kitchen shifts as needed; ensuring that guests are served safe and quality food in a timely manner; regularly inspecting work areas to ensure compliance with food safety regulations; taking inventory of food supplies and other consumables, ordering necessary supplies as needed, and receiving deliveries; coordinating inventory, including marking dates and FIFO product rotation; assisting in maintaining a clean and organized store image, merchandising, pricing, cash register operations/Point of Sale (POS), and loss prevention in adherence to all Company/Store policies, including brand and image standards; reviewing sales records to determine which menu items are most popular to maximize revenue; executing TN Ready—Customer "Readiness" by arranging cleaning and maintenance services, including trash removal, pest control, deep cleaning, and equipment maintenance; following closing procedures, ensuring all equipment is clean and ready for the following shift; and other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications and requirements include: a valid Driver's License; a High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; reliable transportation; proven work experience as a Kitchen Lead/Line Cook; familiarity with kitchen sanitation and safety regulations; experience in restaurants or food service is preferred; food protection manager certification (FPMC) or Foodservice management professional (FMP) accreditation is advantageous (not required); excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; exceptional communication and customer service skills; attention to detail; ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds; ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch throughout the course of the shift; ability to exert force for reaching, pushing, pulling on a regular basis up to 50 lbs.; and specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
