This is a full-time position on day shift, M-F, 5a-1:30p.
* Maintains logs of food items stocked in both the Physicians' Dining Room and in the Surgeons' Lounge.
* Efficiently completes tasks without supervision.
* Completes tasks in a timely manner.
* May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
* Set up of breakfast and lunch hot and cold food.
* Replenishes food, stock and condiments as needed
* Operates and maintains equipment as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures: Keeps coffee machines full of product as needed. Empties coffee ground waste bins.
* Maintains par levels of operating supplies (china, flatware, glassware, utensils) communicating with the purchasing staff or Retail Manager when items need to be purchased.
* Reset counters with silverware, napkins, glassware, etc.
* Removes dirty dishes, linen, glassware and flatware from table and counter tops, and transports items to designated area.
* Wipes counter areas, sinks and floors as required to maintain a clean and safe work station.
* Maintains cleanliness of designated Physicians' Dining Room as according to established health and safety standards.
* Deep cleans food and beverage equipment (coffee machines, steamtable, salad bar), storage cabinets and refrigerators as scheduled or required.
* Removes and properly disposes of all debris accumulated in dining room and service stations in accordance with department procedures.
* Follows defined food sanitation and safety guidelines in preparation of food product and maintaining work environment. (Includes wearing a cutting glove when using a knife.)
* Covers all items to be refrigerated and dates items according to established procedure.
* Uses "FIFO" (First In First Out) when stocking.
* Complies with all Sodexo HACCP policies and procedures recording temperatures as required.
* Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner
* Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
* Receives all physicians and customers courteously and promptly.
* Provides fast, friendly, professional and responsive customer service to dining guests.
* Provides personalized service during guest interactions.
* Relates feedback from the Physicians to the Retail Manager and Executive Chef.
* Maintains a positive attitude
Prior customer-service and food handling experience preferred.
Excellent customer-service skills and ability to be patient, respectful and compassionate to patients.
Must have basic computer knowledge.
Basic knowledge related to hospital diets.
Comfortable cleaning trays, assisting in the dish room.
Previous healthcare or nutrition experience preferred.
Able to perform well in high functioning kitchen.
