Position Summary:

The Cardiovascular Service Line Director leads and directs all aspects of the cardiovascular service line, ensuring high-quality patient care and optimizing financial performance. This role involves strategic planning, program development, and collaboration with medical staff and other healthcare professionals to enhance cardiovascular services and improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning and Program Development:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the cardiovascular service line that aligns with the healthcare organization's overall goals.
  • Identify growth opportunities and assess market trends to expand services and increase patient volume.
  • Lead initiatives to improve clinical programs and services, focusing on quality, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.

2. Clinical Leadership:

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high standards of patient care.
  • Oversee clinical protocols, guidelines, and best practices to ensure evidence-based care and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and continuous education to promote clinical excellence within the service line.

3. Operational Management:

  • Direct daily operations, ensuring efficient resource utilization, staffing, and workflow optimization.
  • Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and financial management to achieve cost-effectiveness and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, including Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulations.

4. Financial Performance and Growth:

  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
  • Develop and manage the service line budget, identifying cost savings and revenue enhancement areas.
  • Oversee billing, coding, and reimbursement processes to optimize financial outcomes.

5. Quality Improvement and Patient Safety:

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, reduce complications, and improve outcomes.
  • Analyze data and metrics related to clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement evidence-based practices to promote patient safety and maintain high standards of care.

6. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:

  • Build strong relationships with physicians, staff, and key stakeholders to promote teamwork and collaboration.
  • Communicate regularly with leadership, updating service line performance, challenges, and accomplishments.
  • Participate in community outreach and marketing efforts to promote cardiovascular services and enhance the organization's reputation.

7. Human Resources and Staff Development:

  • Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of cardiovascular service line staff.
  • Foster a positive work environment, promoting professional development, engagement, and retention.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and labor regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in nursing is required; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of leadership experience in cardiovascular services or a related field, with a strong understanding of clinical operations and financial management.
  • Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of cardiovascular care, quality improvement, and regulatory requirements.
  • Certifications: Clinical or administrative cardiovascular care or healthcare management certifications are preferred.

Work Environment:

This role may require working in a hospital or clinical environment, with a mix of office and clinical settings. Some travel may be required for collaboration with other facilities or professional development.

Pay Range: $62.35-$93.55hr

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
