Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is a nationally ranked academic, quaternary care system based in Chicago's western suburbs. Loyola Medicine Transport is based at Loyola University Medical Center and is part of a three-hospital system including Loyola University Medical Center, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, and MacNeal Hospital.
Lab Support Service Tech supports the delivery of patient care through the receipt, processing, and routing of specimens. Completes registration of outside patients including billing and insurance information. Provides customer friendly service to any person requesting supplies or information by phone, computer or in person.
What you will do:
Performs duties for pre- and post-analytical testing according to standard operating procedures. Receives and evaluates all specimens to ensure positive identification and appropriateness of sample. Properly processes samples for testing performed in-house and/or referred to outside laboratories. Interacts positively with clients when inappropriate specimens or short samples have been submitted. Works with fellow team members to properly triage and efficiently move samples through the pre-analytical phase of testing.

What you will need for this job:
Required: High School Diploma Preferred: High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education
Compensation:
Pay Range: $15.66 - $ 21.10 per hour
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
