About the Role

We are seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic Software Engineer to join the Trimble platform team. The Trimble Platform team builds core platform services such as data storage, authentication, authorization, and data processing that are used by Trimble and Trimble partners in the Buildings, Construction, Transportation, Agriculture, and Geospatial industries. Our cloud services allow Trimble businesses to efficiently build applications and connect content throughout its lifecycle.

As a Software Engineer on the team, you will be contributing to the evolution, architecture, implementation, and maintenance of the centralized services for Trimble Platform. These services play a central role in supporting the Connect and Scale strategy by enabling connected workflows across Trimble products.

What You Will Do

1. Create software designs, implement, and test those designs to meet established requirements
2. Participate in technical/design reviews as required
3. Work independently or with quality assurance personnel to plan and execute product testing
4. Perform or enable the ongoing support of software through the creation of design documentation or the performance of defect isolation and resolution
5. Conduct software engineering according to the team's established procedures, encompassing everything from requirement gathering and planning to implementation, quality checks, performance assessment, and automated deployment of code
6. Work on microservices and various other AWS/Azure tools and technologies
7. Work with various log metrics tools and identify anomalies as needed
8. Work with the author of product documentation to assist in the development and review of product documentation
9. Write code that is clean, maintainable, and thoroughly documented
10. Stay up-to-date with the latest development trends and technologies
11. Understand System Architecture and provide valuable inputs to continuously improve
12. Learn and adapt to a dynamically changing environment
13. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and ensure solution design meets those needs

What Skills & Experience You Should Have

• 5+ years of experience in software product development
• Experience in cloud software product development preferably on AWS
• Strong experience in any programming language, preferably Python
• Experience with Serverless Architecture design and implementation
• Proficiency in object oriented programming
• Experience with REST API development
• Familiarity with GIT and CI/CD best practices
• Experience with databases preferably NoSQL
• Experience with testing frameworks, debugging, and building scripts is a big plus
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Good understanding of Agile software development process

Compensation

Trimble provides the following compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. This compensation range is based on a full time schedule. Trimble reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law.

Hiring Range: $122,500.00–$168,400.00
