Trillium Professional is now seeking a Field Service Technician for a direct-hire placement!

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 1st shift (Based on customer need), minimum 25% Travel. Pay rate is $30-$38/hr based on experience.

A globally leading manufacturer of equipment and complete production systems is seeking a Field Service Technician (Mechatronics) to join their team in North America. This is a direct hire opportunity with strong long-term stability and hands-on work supporting advanced automated press and production systems. The Field Service Technician will perform new equipment installations, customer acceptance testing, troubleshooting, and technical support for electric press and automated handling systems. These systems integrate electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic technologies — requiring strong hands-on technical capability and field problem-solving skills. Travel is required throughout the United States with occasional travel to Canada, Mexico, and potentially Europe. Most work will be field-based supporting customers directly.

Responsibilities:

• Install new equipment and perform customer acceptance testing
• Provide remote technical support to customers
• Troubleshoot equipment issues onsite and perform necessary repairs
• Test systems after repairs to confirm proper operation
• Provide maintenance and operational training to customer personnel
• Write detailed service reports upon job completion
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Travel extensively as required to support customer needs

This Field Service Technician (Mechatronics) role is built for someone who wants hands-on technical ownership, direct customer interaction, and exposure to advanced automation systems in real-world production environments.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or Mechatronics strongly preferred (or 3–5 years of relevant experience)
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Basic understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Experience with ladder logic and PLC systems (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Bachmann preferred)
• Experience with servo drives, specifically Siemens
• Familiarity with Profinet / EtherCAT communication systems
• Ability to interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic schematics and mechanical blueprints
• Proficiency using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and precision measuring equipment
• Ability to work independently and in team environments
• Ability to travel and remain in the field for extended periods when needed
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Valid driver's license
