Senior Buyer, In-Flight Services
The senior buyer will be responsible for evaluating, establishing, and executing the most appropriate procurement strategies aligned with the company's objectives for assigned purchasing categories and special projects, while complying with corporate policies. The agreements put in place will aim to optimize total acquisition cost, maintain or improve product and/or service quality, and minimize business risks.
Responsibilities include:
- Obtain, guide, and participate in drafting specifications for products and/or services required by internal clients;
- Conduct market research and identify potential suppliers;
- Draft tender documents and manage the complete tendering process;
- Analyze supplier proposals (quantitative and qualitative analyses, risk assessment);
- Negotiate terms and conditions in accordance with internal processes and policies;
- Prepare documentation to obtain final decisions from internal clients and other relevant decision-makers;
- Draft contract proposals reflecting completed negotiations;
- Manage contracts (signatures, amendments, invoice discrepancies, compliance);
- Support internal clients in evaluating supplier performance;
- Conduct strategic monitoring and benchmark and attend industry committees, trade shows, and conferences;
- Recommend business improvement initiatives;
- Coordinate and conduct performance evaluations and business reviews between suppliers and relevant operational teams.
Operationalize signed agreements and measure contract compliance in terms of cost and performance:
- Prepare summaries for each signed agreement and communicate effectively with relevant operational teams;
- Support internal clients in evaluating contracted supplier performance (SLA, KPI, Scorecard);
- Manage supplier relationships for any contractual changes, non-compliance issues, or performance concerns according to contract procedures and timelines;
- Support the Finance team and Systems Specialist in managing invoice discrepancies.
Contribute to continuous improvement and compliance with procurement processes to ensure operational sustainability, efficiency, supply chain resilience, desired financial outcomes, and effective risk management:
- Encourage discussions with strategic suppliers focused on continuous improvement;
- Propose initiatives and solutions aligned with internal ESG policy and other applicable regulations.
Qualifications include:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in procurement (aviation industry is an asset, catering services industry is an asset);
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent;
- Procurement is an asset;
- Bilingual (English/French): spoken and written;
- Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and work collaboratively;
- Strong negotiation skills;
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail;
- Strong communication and writing skills;
- Autonomous, organized, and proactive;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite;
- Knowledge of SAP software is an asset;
- Availability to travel.
