What's in it for You:
The Engineering Intern supports the engineering team by assisting with process improvements, data analysis, and technical projects within a manufacturing environment. This role is designed for individuals in the Columbia area pursuing a career in engineering and provides hands-on, real-world experience.
What You Will Do:
- Assist engineering technicians and engineers with day-to-day support on the production floor
- Support process improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and efficiency
- Collect, organize, and analyze production and process data
- Participate in problem-solving activities (5 Whys, root cause analysis)
- Help develop and update work instructions and process documentation
- Observe and learn manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems
- Present project updates and findings to engineering or operations leadership
What You Will Bring:
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Currently enrolled in, planning to enroll in, or recently graduated from a program aligned to engineering or technical fields preferred
- Must be located in or able to commute to the Columbia, SC area
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in engineering, manufacturing, or operations
Preferred Skills:
- Pursuing or completed coursework in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Exposure to CAD software or technical tools is a plus
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a hands-on environment
Development Opportunity:
- Direct exposure to engineering and technician-level work
- Hands-on experience in a manufacturing plant environment

- Opportunity to transition into a full-time Engineering Technician or Engineering role
Work Environment:
- Combination of office and manufacturing floor exposure
