What's in it for You:

The Engineering Intern supports the engineering team by assisting with process improvements, data analysis, and technical projects within a manufacturing environment. This role is designed for individuals in the Columbia area pursuing a career in engineering and provides hands-on, real-world experience.

What You Will Do:

• Assist engineering technicians and engineers with day-to-day support on the production floor
• Support process improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and efficiency
• Collect, organize, and analyze production and process data
• Participate in problem-solving activities (5 Whys, root cause analysis)
• Help develop and update work instructions and process documentation
• Observe and learn manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems
• Present project updates and findings to engineering or operations leadership

What You Will Bring:

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Currently enrolled in, planning to enroll in, or recently graduated from a program aligned to engineering or technical fields preferred
• Must be located in or able to commute to the Columbia, SC area
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in engineering, manufacturing, or operations

Preferred Skills:

• Pursuing or completed coursework in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Exposure to CAD software or technical tools is a plus
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a hands-on environment

Development Opportunity:

• Opportunity to transition into a full-time Engineering Technician or Engineering role

Work Environment:

• Combination of office and manufacturing floor exposure
• Must follow all plant safety requirements.
