Intern - Analytics, Machine Learning, And Ai

This intern is responsible for assisting with developing and automating analytical tools and data process workflows that support product engineering. The engineering tools enable our engineering teams to model performance and develop new high-efficiency products worldwide. Intern will be joining a mature team that is expanding to grow department capabilities in Analytics, Machine Learning, and AI. This intern will partner directly with our design, engineering, manufacturing, and product support teams, so success in this key person requires collaboration with subject matter experts to translate engineering and customer needs into software tools and data products.

Key competencies:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues with data and applications.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop and maintain analytic workflows and visualizations.
  • Develop new analytic capabilities through ML techniques or AI to solve engineering related problems with Product Development, Product Design, or External Customers.
  • Conducts guided data exploration of new data sets and reports out findings to data engineering team.
  • Monitors data sets in production to ensure consistency of data feeding production models.
  • Work with team members in agile/scrum process to track tasks.
  • Plan and develop technology upgrades for engineering software tools.

Physical effort:

  • Typical office environment spending most of their time using computers. Accommodations will be evaluated where needed.

Additional requirements:

  • Sophomore standing or above in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • Overall GPA 3.0 or above.
  • Demonstrated collaboration/leadership skills such as school club officer, team captain, resident advisor, or leader of a service organization.
  • Resiliency and ability to adapt quickly.
  • Passion for solving problems with data and technology.
  • Experience with the agile methodology and concepts is preferred.
  • Experience with Alteryx, Tableau, Oracle Business Intelligence, Informatica, Rapid Miner, Azure BI, or other Analytics tools.
  • Ability to read and comprehend rule-based logic.
  • Passion for continuous learning and willingness to adapt to changing environments.
  • Experience with developing, maintaining, and documenting CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
