We currently have an opportunity available for a Mechanical Engineer. Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer will ensure successful execution of the specification, design, qualification, and installation of new and modified capital equipment starting with small projects now while developing skills to increase the size and scope of multiple large projects by directing contractors and vendors.
The engineering group works on a wide array of equipment to support the Lumirror Division which is both an industrial plant and a chemical plant. The group designs equipment in-house, specifies equipment from vendors, oversees contractors for installation, tests and starts equipment up. We also support other divisional groups as needed.
As a Mechanical Engineer you will be involved with a wide array of construction and equipment such as; building modifications & construction, power transmission equipment (motors, gearboxes, shafting, bearings, couplings, clutches, brakes, etc.), small and large rotating equipment, piping, pumps, blowers, vacuum systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, tanks, pressure vessels, bulk storage silos, exhaust systems, HVAC and many more.
The work of the engineering group is challenging and diverse. While there is detailed design work, the position is not just sitting at a desk. Each engineer oversees their project including directing contractors to perform installation work. Projects allow for tremendous learning and growth.

We are seeking candidates with a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering (required) with 3-10 years of design and project management experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to research and learn. With the scope covered by the group, the position is a continuous learning process.
