Position Summary:

This position supports plant wide projects of continuous improvement, process improvement, process development, manufacturing cost reduction, and addition of new equipment. The Engineers provide leadership and technical direction to maintenance, contractors, and manufacturing employees.

Essential Responsibilities:

Utilize engineering principles and techniques to design, specify, document, and implement specialized process equipment, components, tooling, etc. Work as a member of a team to implement continuous improvement ideas, and large scale projects. Manage projects, or portions of projects, such as changes to equipment layouts, process improvements, process development, and new product launches; insuring projects are completed on-time and within budget. Support Maintenance and Production areas with technical expertise to correct daily problems affecting production.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering degree

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to work in 2D and 3D CAD drawing/modeling packages
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Drafting Standards, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Machining Practices, Material Properties, Heat Treatment, Lean, Safety & Quality Standards and/or Regulations
  • Mechanical Intuition / Problem Solving Skills
  • Good Technical Writing and Communication Skills
  • Project Management Skills
  • MS Office
  • Machine shop and/or manufacturing experience preferred
  • CNC programming experience preferred
