Engineering Technician VI

GVI Inc, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking an Engineering Technician VI with Ordnance Experience to join our team in White Sands Missile Range, NM.

Required Qualifications:

• An Associates level degree or an equivalent education/work experience combination in the field of science, engineering or mathematics. For equivalency purposes, two years of experience is considered one year of formal education/training, and/or ten (10) years of service with an appropriate military Naval Enlisted Code, Military Occupational Specialty, preferred grade at departure is desired to be no less than E6. Five (5) years professional experience handling of ordnance.
• Experience providing equipment maintenance, repair and certification for weight handling (WHE), material handling (MHE) and ordnance handling equipment (OHE). General knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics principles to fully maintain and repair various carts utilized.
• US Citizen.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum of Secret Security Clearance; candidates currently possessing an active Secret clearance are preferred.
• Must have a valid U.S. driver's license.
• Ability to frequently lift 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previously qualified under a military AMMUNITION AND EXPLOSIVES (A&E) Program.
• Knowledge of OPNAVINST 8023.24D, NAVSEA 05P Volume 1 Eighth Revision, OPNAVINST 8020.14B or other similar military regulations.
• Experience with U.S. Navy and NASA personnel involved in the observation of safe ordnance handling across U.S. Navy units. This includes personnel in storage areas, loading/unloading operations, and maintenance and transportation to ensure Mission Safety.
• Experience of applicable safety procedures, functioning of safety devices and working knowledge of work task procedures to determine potential outcomes and risks when safety procedures or devices are not properly used.
• Experience for safety assurance during any type of ordnance handling evolution and should not be confused with a supervisor's normal responsibilities.
• Experience during ordnance handling evolutions, where launching devices or handling equipment interacts with ordnance materials (i.e., racks, transporters, elevators, slings, cradles, forklift, pallet truck, hoist, dollies, skid, etc.).
• Experience in transportation, loading, unloading, and maintenance of hazardous materials.

This position is located in White Sands Missile Range, NM.

Compensation: $39.09 / hour + HW of $5.09
