Senior Software Engineer

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be joining our fast-moving product engineering team working on the future of our alerting platform. In your day-to-day you will be architecting and delivering features for a large-scale, globally distributed platform and set of applications that ingests and processes hundreds of thousands of data points per second.

This role is based in Romania and can be either fully remote or based in our Cluj-Napoca office.

In this job, you'll get to...

1. Influence the next iterations of our architecture as we strive to get critical data to our clients faster and with near-perfect reliability.
2. Implement industry best practices along with novel patterns and technologies that will help improve the codebase and the product.
3. Contribute code to production systems from the get-go.
4. Share responsibility for several microservices and design significant features that impact multiple services, across team boundaries.
5. Partner with other members of the team to plan and deliver the next iteration of our customer applications to support emerging use cases for our product.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

• 5+ years of experience building back-end services and applications
• Strong object-oriented design, API design, data modeling, data storage/retrieval and programming skills
• Self-orienting and a bias for action
• Ability to contribute to 0-to-1 projects and drive alignment across teams and functions
• Experience collaborating with and learning from Senior+ Engineers

Good to have

• Experience with Elixir, Erlang, Scala and/or other functional programming languages
• Strong understanding of RESTful API and GraphQL best practices
• Experience working with large-scale distributed systems, microservices, real time streaming data and messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, and SQS
