Forensic Practice

Our Forensic practice investigates problems in the built environment and provides evidence-based solutions founded on rigorous science and physics. We assist attorneys, property managers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues.

The Role

We have an immediate opportunity for a Project Engineer with interests in structural forensic investigation, structural repair, retrofit design, litigation support and risk loss consulting. Candidates for the Project Engineer position should have 5-6 years' experience in investigating, analyzing and designing medium to large size projects such as industrial buildings, office buildings, health care, and warehouses, preferably in a consulting engineering firm environment. The candidate will be expected to support structural investigations of existing buildings, industrial structures and design remedial repairs for deficient conditions. Over time, the candidate will be expected to provide directions to and review the work product of junior-level staff, coordinate with other project managers on interdisciplinary efforts, support marketing efforts, develop and maintain client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Assist with damage assessment and cause and origin investigations.
• Perform peer review, identify design deficiencies.
• Communicate with clients to understand project requirements.
• Plan and formulate engineering tasks, organize project staff as per the project requirements.
• Perform structural analysis on all types of buildings, complex industrial structures.
• Assist in developing remediation solutions for deficient conditions.
• Review building codes, design processes and design assumptions.
• Assist in site visits, site investigations, and prepare field reports.
• Work with a multi-discipline team of design professionals.
• Complete technical and investigative reports to support forensic findings and prepare materials related to presentations.
• Manage other design team members and supervise the work of engineers and BIM staff.

Requirements

• PhD/M.Tech/MS in Structural Engineering.
• 5 years of relevant experience in analysis, design of structures.
• Working knowledge of current industry software, including SAP2000, ETABS, RAM Structural System, SAFE, Risa3-D, StructurePoint, Revit, MS-Excel and AutoCAD is preferred.
• Willingness to learn NDT techniques.
• Ability and willingness to travel within India and internationally.
