Our Forensic practice investigates problems in the built environment and provides evidence-based solutions founded on rigorous science and physics. We assist attorneys, property managers, building owners, contractors, manufacturers, and design professionals with a wide range of engineering and architectural issues.
We have an opportunity for an Engineer to join our Forensics Practice, with an interest in structural forensic investigation, structural repair, retrofit design, litigation support and risk loss consulting. Candidates for the Engineer position should have 0–1-year experience in analyzing and designing small projects such as low-rise residential buildings, office buildings, health care, and warehouses, preferably in a consulting engineering firm environment. The candidate will be expected to support structural investigations of existing buildings, industrial structures and design remedial repairs for deficient conditions.
•Structural analysis, and design of buildings using a variety of building codes.
•Assist with damage assessment and cause and origin investigations.
•Review building codes, design processes and design assumptions.
•Preparation of construction drawings/documents.
•Perform calculations using MS-Excel, Initiate the development of custom spreadsheet-based calculations.
•Coordination with other in-house team members, and BIM staff.
•M.Tech/MS in Structural Engineering.
•Working knowledge of current industry software, including SAP2000, ETABS, RAM Structural System, SAFE, Risa3-D, StructurePoint, Revit, MS-Excel and AutoCAD is preferred.
•Willingness to learn NDT techniques.
