Senior Director, Legal Sales
Thomson Reuters is seeking an experienced Sales Leader to lead our legal content and solutions sales portfolio across Asia excluding China, with a mandate to expand into broader Southeast Asia (SEA). This role is critical for driving revenue growth, managing and performance-managing a team of Business Development Managers based out of Singapore and Hong Kong, and expanding Thomson Reuters' legal market presence beyond its current client base.
About the Role
In this opportunity as Senior Director, Legal Sales, you will be responsible for the following:
- Drive Sales Results: Developing and executing sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets and revenue objectives.
- People Management: Recruiting, training, mentoring, and leading a team of BDMs to foster a high-performance, results-oriented culture.
- Business Development & Market Expansion: Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities beyond the current client base.
- Channel Sales: Working closely with the Strategic Partnership & Alliances (P&A) team to support and develop channel sales strategies and partnerships.
- Industry Knowledge: Maintaining a deep understanding of the Legal market and wider B2B landscape, including market trends, competitor activities, and the evolving role of AI-powered legal technology, to inform sales strategies.
- Revenue-Driven Focus: Consistently monitoring and analyzing sales performance, implementing corrective actions as needed, and reporting on progress to senior management.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Senior Director, Legal Sales, if you have the following required qualifications:
- Proven sales leadership with consistent achievement and over-performance against targets, with direct experience managing and coaching sales teams.
- Demonstrated experience in performance management, with the ability to identify gaps, implement improvement plans, and drive accountability across a regional team.
- Strategic commercial acumen to identify market opportunities — particularly in underpenetrated markets — and convert them into growth plans.
- Domain expertise in Legal, SaaS/technology, and/or AI-driven solutions; legal experience or qualifications are preferred but not essential.
- Skilled at managing complex sales cycles, resolving issues, and navigating demanding customer requirements.
- Strong cross-functional leadership, partnering effectively with P&A, Marketing, Sales Ops, Product, Customer Success, and Finance to drive outcomes.
- Willingness to travel across the region (30-40%).
