Job Description:
•Pick up food donations from local grocery stores and community partners
•Accurately weigh and record all incoming donations
•Maintain detailed documentation of donations, including source, weight, and type
•Sort and shelves donated food items according to food safety guidelines
•Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or excesses
•Ensure proper rotation of stock to minimize waste
•Assemble food hampers based on dietary needs and family size
•Hand out hampers to clients in a welcoming and respectful manner
•Maintain confidentiality and dignity of all clients
•Set up and organize the Food Rescue Store for client access
•Staff the store during opening hours, assist clients and maintain daily log of how many clients we were able to serve
•Ensure the store remains clean, stocked, and organized
•Physical work including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
•Indoor and outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions

•Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
•Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army's health and safety policies and procedures.
•Ability to provide an original copy of a Background Check that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required, including Child Check (if appropriate).
Experience and Knowledge:
•Valid driver's license and drivers abstract
Skills and Capabilities:
•Ability to lift and carry boxes up to 50 lbs
•Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $17.85 to $20.43 with a maximum of $24.52. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
