About The Role

As a Support Worker, this is your opportunity to support the Katherine Community Centre to achieve service delivery outcomes, and to provide general reception and administrative support. Reporting to the Team Leader, this is a permanent, full-time position based in Katherine, NT.

How You Will Make An Impact

  1. Assist and support clients accessing the service.
  2. Establish relationships with clients that encourages self-determination, participation, and supports them to improve their situation.
  3. Establish effective work relationships with staff, clients and other stakeholders, as appropriate.
  4. Maintain regular communication with all team members.
  5. As directed, support clients to actively engage in their case plans.
  6. Assist clients in accessing other TSA and/or external support services.

What You Will Bring

  • Self-motivated and shows a high level of initiative.
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact, network and build positive relationships with a variety of people.
  • Experience working with people who may not have English as a first language and knowledge of Local Aboriginal Communities and Culture.
  • A Working with Children (Ochre Card) Vulnerable people check is required.
  • A National police record check.
  • A NT Driver’s Licence (LR licence preferable or willing to obtain).
