Position: Support Worker | 2 positions available

Location: Brisbane Recovery Services – Moonyah, Red Hill

Classification: SCHADS Award – Social and Community Services Level 3.1

Employment Type: casual

Working Hours: Mon-Sun

Day shift – 8am – 4pm

Afternoon Shift: 2pm – 10pm

Night Shift: 10pm – 6am

The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia's largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely.

About The Role

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Casual Support Workers to join our team at the Red Hill - Moonyah Recovery centre. In this role, you will provide consistent, person-centred support in a safe and structured environment, aligned with The Salvation Army's recovery-based service model and organizational guidelines.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Build positive, respectful relationships with participants, encouraging self-determination and active involvement in their recovery journey.
  • Identify and assess risks associated with participant activities and communicate mitigation strategies to management.
  • Assist with day-to-day tasks, including light cleaning, room preparation for new arrivals, and transportation to appointments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with TSA policies and procedures.
  • Promptly report any identified risks affecting participants, staff, or the organization to the appropriate supervisor.

What You Will Bring

  • Hold a relevant Certificate-level qualification and/or have prior experience or on-the-job training in a similar role. A Diploma-level qualification will also be considered.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate
  • Possess a valid Driver's Licence.
