We provide services and supports to adults, and families with accompanying children in the form of accommodation, case management, assertive outreach, financial assistance, community connection and referral services.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, this is your opportunity to provide effective day to day operations of The Women's Open House based in Alice Springs, NT. This role will also engage with other TSA services, local community agencies, internal and external suppliers, and community members for the purpose of meeting the mission of The Salvation Army in Central Australia. Reporting to the Team Leader, we have multiple positions with, full-time, part-time, and casual hours available. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, Level 2.

How You Will Make an Impact

  1. Ensure the Women's Open House is a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment.
  2. Adheres to TSA Work, Health and Safety policies, procedures including those covering anti-bullying, antidiscrimination, and dealing with difficult users.
  3. Attend staff meetings as requested.
  4. Provide support to other team members, as needed.
  5. Attend relevant training as requested.

What You Will Bring

  • Self-motivated and shows a high level of initiative.
  • Experience working with people who may not have English as a first language and knowledge of Local Aboriginal Communities and Culture.
  • Demonstrated previous experience working in a similar role.
  • A Working with Children (Ochre Card) Vulnerable people check is required.
  • A National police Record Check.
