Our sister concepts, Ruby Slipper and Ruby Sunshine, are focused on bringing the spirit and soul of New Orleans to brunch.
We're looking for an energetic and people-loving HR Generalist to join our growing breakfast and brunch restaurant company! In this role, you'll be the go-to person for all things HR in Tennessee, North and South Carolina and Northern Alabama —recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and more. You'll help us continue our positive, supportive workplace culture across all our locations, while keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. How you will spend your time:
- Supporting all things HR for 11 restaurants with the potential for additional restaurants through company growth.
- Scouting talent, screening applicants, and partnering with the Regional Vice President of Operations in selecting Restaurant Managers.
- Supporting operations in driving applicants for hourly Krewe.
- On-boarding all managers and supporting orientations remotely for hourly Krewe.
- Promoting our culture and Employee Experience Standards by training and auditing Human Resources systems execution in the restaurants supported.
- Tracking employee retention and engagement and partnering with restaurant management teams to create/execute plans to increase engagement and reduce turnover.
- Investigating and mediating employee grievances and issues related to policies and employee standards.
- Supporting the managers' understanding of HR Policies and systems by facilitating training classes related to people, policy, and HR systems.
- Developing in partnership with Training & Operational Support and Regional Directors of Operations, career paths and development plans for promotion and growth.
- Auditing our Human Resources records and teaching our stakeholders to utilize HR systems and practices effectively.
- Participating in supporting HR functions for new restaurant openings in this region.
- Participating with HR team members in managing other HR Generalist activities including diversity outreach efforts, effective staff reporting, performance management initiatives, and project management.
What we're looking for:
- 5+ years of Human Resources Generalist Experience in the hospitality/restaurant business with heavy recruiting and employee relations experience.
- Track record of high volume recruiting in the restaurant, retail, or hospitality space.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner; ability to solve problems. Attention to detail is critical.
- Innovative and self-starter. Continually seeks ways to build relationships and improve processes and take action to make it happen.
- Multi-unit experience preferably in restaurants.
- Track record of success in maintaining HR data.
- Intermediate or higher skills in Excel.
- Human Resources degree, and/or equivalent HR experience.
- SHRM Certification preferred.
- Ability to work from home and field that includes locations in TN, AL, NC, SC. Some travel to our home office in New Orleans as well.
