A Day in the Life

  • Independently managing and processing the engineering change management (ECM) including identification, documentation, evaluation, and implementation of technical changes
  • Coordinating engineering change requests (ECR) and engineering change orders (ECO) within the company
  • Independently conducting projects to implement technical changes in compliance with schedules and budgets
  • Close cooperation with production, manufacturing engineering, R&D, purchasing, order processing, warehouse, quality control, work preparation, and planning for the efficient implementation of changes
  • Analysis and evaluation of the impact of changes on products, processes, and systems in terms of quality, cost, time, and product performance
  • Ensuring the traceability of all changes and maintaining and updating technical documentation and bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Ensuring communication of relevant changes to internal stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with internal/external quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Conducting training and consulting internal stakeholders on the engineering change process
  • Mentoring engineering change specialists and team members
  • Moderating change control boards and decision-making bodies
  • Continuously optimizing and developing the change management process and related systems (e.g., Agile PLM, Navision ERP)
  • Supporting audits and process improvement projects

The Key to Success

Education

  • Completed technical studies (e.g., mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering) or comparable qualification

Experience

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in engineering change management or in a similar position, ideally in medical technology, automotive, or manufacturing industry
  • Comprehensive experience in the use of product lifecycle management systems (e.g., Oracle Agile) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Navision)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proficient project management skills, including planning, execution, and monitoring of complex (change) projects and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams
  • Certifications in project management (e.g., IPMA, PMP) or change management (e.g., Prosci) are advantageous
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with high-level stakeholders and manage changes
  • Very independent, structured, and meticulous working style
  • Proficient use of MS Office products (PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Excellent time management and quick comprehension
  • Excellent German and English language skills in writing and speaking
