A Day in the Life

This position is passionate about service delivery excellence within Unity Lab Services! Specific activities relative to the job function include:

• Receive, process, assess quality of, accession and prepare human/animal specimens not limited to tissues, plasmas, serums, whole blood, PBMCs for distribution to clients and external analytical laboratories
• Takes inventory of specimens, records specimen discrepancies, exhausts specimen in accordance with biohazard regulations
• Works closely with histology technicians, pathology department, human tissue sciences department, study managers and project coordinators daily
• Uses RTLIMS system as database of specimens and to ensure chain of custody of specimens
• Liaises with the Media Sciences and Shipping/Receiving department for fresh tissue media
• Serves as the first point of contact for any specimen matters or concerns, including specimen quality and Service Level Agreements.

Keys to Success

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

• Ability to present and articulate points by verbal and written communications.
• 2+ years of dynamic proven experience in applicable field with GXP experience preferred.
• Ability to establish and champion positive customer relationships.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal skills and proactive approach in all duties.
• Demonstrate expertise in the ability to identify inefficiencies in any process and make recommendations for improvement.
• Detail oriented, technically proficient, organized, problem solver, promotes team environment.
• Willingness to work overtime as the need arises.

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $23.90–$31.00. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
