We are looking for a Field Service Engineer/Servicetechniker (W/M/D) LC-MS in the Rhein-Main region to support our team. As a service technician at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will make a decisive contribution to providing excellent services for sophisticated analytical and scientific instruments. You will work closely with customers from research, industry, and the healthcare sector and be responsible for installation, maintenance, fault analysis, qualification, and repair of complex systems. In this role, you will work with the latest technology and actively contribute to scientific development and innovation.

A Day In The Life:

In this position, you will take care of the product lines HPLC, ion chromatography, and – depending on your qualifications – mass spectrometry and mol/DIA products in your region. You will install and commission devices, carry out maintenance and repairs, and ensure the optimal functioning of the systems. You will prepare service missions technically and organizationally and carry them out economically. You will also document your service missions, take over escalation management according to Thermo Fisher guidelines, and provide technical and application-technical support to customers.

What You Can Expect:

  • Installation, commissioning, maintenance, qualification, fault diagnosis, and repair of assigned products
  • Technical and application-technical customer support
  • Careful documentation of service missions and escalation management
  • Support in the sale of service products such as service contracts, qualifications, and upgrades
  • Close cooperation with support teams and manufacturers
  • Maintenance of material inventory as well as measuring and testing equipment
  • Support at trade fairs and exhibitions
  • Operational cooperation with technical team leaders
  • High travel activity within Germany and, if necessary, within the EMEA region and worldwide for training purposes

Key To Success:

Education: Completed technical training or professional experience in the fields of electronics, natural sciences, medical technology, or a comparable technical degree.

  • Experience in servicing analytical or scientific instruments is an advantage.
  • Strong interest in analytical systems as well as in the continuous work with new products and technologies.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Profound analytical thinking, very good organizational skills, and the ability to manage several tasks with different priorities.
  • Good knowledge of the applicable computer hardware and software.

Competencies:

  • High team capability
  • Positive and professional appearance towards customers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in customer contact as well as within a matrix organization
  • Very good German skills (at least B2) and good English skills (at least B1) in speech and writing
  • Valid driver's license to drive a passenger car.
