Digital Science Solutions (DSS) supports customers' scientific ecosystems, connecting Thermo Fisher's digital capabilities through informatics solutions. DSS works with colleagues from other divisions and businesses across Thermo Fisher to drive collaborative solutions to customer challenges, helping to commercialize software projects by delivering end-to-end product, software and service capabilities which span complete scientific workflows.

Location: Field-based role covering Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, with willingness to travel to Germany, France, the UK, and the Benelux region.

Discover Impactful Work The main focus of the role is the repair, maintenance, and installation of Cytomat Products, Laboratory Automation (LAI) products, and selected third-party equipment at customer sites in Denmark and across Europe. A key priority is also to actively support customer relationship activities to drive Customer Support Services and Service Contract sales within the assigned region.

A Day in the Life:

  • Schedule and perform on-site maintenance, repair, and installation of Cytomat and LAI systems
  • Deliver on-site training on system service, maintenance, and basic operation
  • Manage and maintain local spare parts inventory
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of service documentation, including reports, work orders, and quotes
  • Diagnose issues remotely or via phone and coordinate on-site interventions when required
  • Dispatch and manage third-party service providers when necessary and follow up on resolution
  • Monitor contract, warranty, and service status for installed customer base

What to expect:

  • Extensive travel (75%+) across Denmark and Europe
  • Hands-on work with automation systems, robotics, and laboratory instrumentation
  • A mix of remote diagnostics and on-site service activities
  • Customer-facing role with strong relationship management focus
  • Dynamic and fast-paced environment with technical challenges

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Technology diploma in Mechatronics, Electro-mechanical Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of practical field service experience or experience troubleshooting laboratory equipment and software
  • Proven experience with automation systems, robotics, and/or instrumentation

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong multi-disciplinary technical expertise across software, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Proficiency with computers, serial communications, networking, and diagnostic tools
  • Basic programming knowledge to interpret and understand system logic
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills using schematics, software tools, and technical documentation
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus
  • Professional working proficiency in English and Danish is required, additional languages are advantageous
  • Working knowledge of Momentum software is a plus
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in laboratory environments
  • Availability to respond to urgent customer needs
  • Commitment to following all safety protocols, including working in cleanroom environments
