Network Engineer (Network Engineering, Analyst)

The MIL Corporation is seeking a Network Engineer to support a Federal Government client in Patuxent River, MD. The Support Specialist will provide support to the government client and interface with RDT&E and other support organizations. The Network Engineer will apply system engineering and computer networking principles to the development, design and integration of hardware and software systems associated with local, regional and wide area networks and systems that process and route voice, video, data, and imagery information.

This position currently requires an on-site schedule, with five days on-site and is eligible for Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement computer and information networks, such as local area networks, wide area networks, intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks
• Perform network emulation/virtualization, analysis, and planning
• May also design network and computer security measures
• May install and upgrade systems software and maintain software configuration management
• May research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software

Travel: Approximately 5% other sites, as needed

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of three (3) years' experience working independently and/or as part of a team to configure, install, support and maintain network or system hardware and software infrastructure
• Knowledge of basic concepts, terminology, and operations of a wide range of communications media (computer and telephone networks, satellite, fiber, wireless)
• Ability to develop and write Standard Operating Procedures for technical and non-technical consumers as well as diagrams
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to move/lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be flexible with work schedule to include occasional weekends

Desired Qualifications:

• Familiarity DoD DISN network infrastructure
• Cisco CCNP Certification or higher
• Proficiency with Microsoft Visio
• Extensive experience with IPSEC, VPN, QoS, Multicast, OCSP, BGP, and L2TP
• Familiarity with Linux - RHEL

Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited university OR approved CSWF training OR certification.

Clearance: All applicants for this position must possess a current Top-Secret clearance; please note that the clearance process considers financial background aspects.

Compensation: The MIL Corporation values your contributions and offers a range of benefits to support your overall well-being. Additional benefits and incentives may also apply, which will be communicated during the hiring process. For this position, the projected compensation range is $80,000 - $130,000 per year. This estimate represents the typical salary range and is just one part of MIL's complete compensation package. Final salary for this position is determined based on factors such as individual qualifications, education, experience, and contractual limitations.
