Job Overview:

Responsible for Process Engineering activities at the Belford Roxo site. This position is part of the Site Leadership Team (SLT) and manages a team of 1-3 technical engineering professionals. Responsible for key elements and activities of the site PSM program such as calorimetry studies, chemical reaction hazards assessment, pressure relief verifications, HAZOP, LOPA, MAH management, etc. Responsible for process design activities in close collaboration with the site Project Engineering organization to effectively execute the capital plan for the site, which will include coordination of activities with engineering design houses and contractors. Coordinates kaizen activities focused on improving safety & efficiency of plant processes. Supports product localization activities in close collaboration with the sales and product management teams. Site focal point for new technology deployment in close liaison with the global process technology team. Plant support for day to day safe & efficient operations, identifying and investigating root cause of abnormalities in the manufacturing process. Responsible for team skills development and talent management.

Accountabilities:

  • Understand, adheres and promote Lubrizol's Code of Ethics & Compliance in everything you do.
  • Support the development of an integrated Process Safety Management (PMS) system on site, championing high quality risk analysis using tools such as HAZOP, LOPA, CHAZOP, OBRA, FSS, etc. MAH identification and management, and gatekeeps process design documentation such as PFDs, P&IDs, etc.
  • Champions MOC process for the site.
  • Leads plant process design activities & support capital project activity on site.
  • Develop and lead projects related to process improvement and new technology deployment.
  • Develop and lead emissions reduction plan.
  • Champions process mapping initiatives to identify safety, quality, reliability, and efficiency improvements.
  • Technical focal point representing the site in regional and global forums/initiatives.
  • Supports plant daily activities in problem solving and root cause analysis of process deviations, batch sheet updates, etc.
  • Delivers technical training to site teams.
  • Manages team skills development.

Education / Skills:

  • Chemical Engineering degree.
  • 10-15 years experience in process and/or project with team management in hazardous chemical plants.
  • Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint) (required)
  • Advance level English (required)
  • SAP knowledge (desired)
  • Proactivity

  • Communication skills
