Platform Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Platform Engineer to implement end-to-end data and analytics solutions using the Microsoft Fabric platform. This role is ideal for someone with technical expertise in Microsoft's data ecosystem who thrives in identifying platform limitations and proactively building custom solutions to bridge functional gaps. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in automation and DevOps, enabling efficient, secure, and scalable deployment and management of analytics infrastructure.
This role will work closely with data governance, data loss prevention (DLP), and Architecture teams to ensure platform compliance and data security across all solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing robust, scalable, and secure solutions using Microsoft Fabric components including OneLake, Data Factory, Power BI, and Real Time Analytics.
- Automating deployment and monitoring of Fabric solutions using DevOps best practices (CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, testing frameworks, etc.).
- Identifying limitations in Fabric's native capabilities and working with platform owners to design supplemental solutions using Notebooks and REST APIs.
- Implementing defined role-based access control, data classification, sensitivity labeling, and auditing within the Fabric ecosystem.
- Developing reusable templates, deployment scripts, and automation workflows to accelerate and standardize project delivery.
- Integrating Microsoft Fabric with other cloud and on-prem systems through custom connectors, APIs, and automation pipelines.
- Continuously monitoring Microsoft Fabric feature releases and proactively assessing their architectural and operational implications.
- Collaborating with engineering teams in implementing best practices for scalable architecture, DevOps processes, and governance alignment.
Qualifications include:
- 5+ years development experience
- 1+ year minimum python or spark specific coding experience.
- Experience in Microsoft data and analytics services: Power BI, Data Factory, Spark and OneLake.
- Background in DevOps practices, including Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Proficiency in automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- Experience creating or customizing solutions to extend platform capabilities.
- Collaboration and communication skills to work across engineering, governance, and compliance teams.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Hands-on experience deploying Fabric assets using DevOps pipelines
- Experience with metadata-driven development approaches
- Contributions to Fabric community tooling or open-source projects
