Interpreter Services Specialist
The Interpreter Services Specialist ensures that interpreting services, including one-time requests, Over-the-Phone Interpreting (OPI), ongoing engagements, and other scheduled assignments, consistently meet high quality standards. This role focuses on monitoring interpreter performance, reviewing feedback, and supporting adherence to industry best practices. In addition, the Specialist assists with scheduling and coordination activities to help ensure timely fulfillment of interpreting needs across service types.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor interpreter performance and adherence to professional codes of ethics
- Gather, review, and document feedback to ensure high service standards
- Support quality assurance initiatives by helping enforce industry best practices
- Provide input on interpreter evaluations and performance improvement measures
- Contribute to the development of processes that strengthen quality and consistency
- Assist with the coordination of one-time interpreting requests
- Help manage the full life cycle of assignments, from scheduling through completion
- Ensure assignments are fulfilled accurately and on time
- Support communications with interpreters, including onboarding and updates
Education, Experience & Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Interpretation, Linguistics, Languages, or related field
- Experience in the language services industry, with emphasis on interpreting services
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance best practices within the language services field
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills; proactive and detail-oriented
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills; able to manage multiple interpreters and assignments under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Available Schedule:
- Monday to Friday from 09:00 am to 5:30 pm EST.
