Senior Mechanical Analyses Engineer

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We want you as a talented Senior Mechanical Analyses Engineer to help us in our mission by contributing to the development and validation of our sub-components. You will be part of the Vehicle Design Team and will report to the Principal Mechanical Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform detailed mechanical analyses and simulations to ensure the structural integrity and performance of sub-components.

Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) under various loading conditions, including launch and reentry environments, to evaluate stress, strain, and deformation in the parts.

Work closely with other teams to understand their needs and provide recommendations for design improvements.

Prepare technical reports and documentation to support design justification in the frame of sub-components development.

Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise on mechanical analysis.

Ensure compliance with ECSS/NASA standards and regulations.

Support the development of testing protocols and oversee experimental mechanical qualification of sub-components.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related field.

Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical development and analysis.

Proven experience in thermo-mechanical justification and finite element analysis (FEA).

Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) software (Nastran is preferable).

Experience with CAD software is a plus.

Skills and Behaviors:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Positive and flexible attitude to get the job done.

Fluent in English. Knowledge of German, French and Italian is an asset.
