Executive Team Roles for Physics/Engineering Physics DSC

Thanks for your interest in joining the 2025/2026 executive team for the Physics/Engineering Physics DSC! We are hiring for multiple roles open to both Engineering and Physics students (unless otherwise stated). We are looking for passionate and open-minded individuals who want to get more involved in their department council. From planning fun events like Clark Night to helping with Beef Sessions to even designing this year’s shirt we’ve got lots to do this year!

Event Coordinators (1 Physics, 1 Engineering)

Responsible for all room and venue booking for events.

Contacting and following the rules of the AMS regarding events, including proper sanctioning.

Marketing Coordinators (1 Physics, 1 Engineering)

Responsible for the creation of marketing material and timely submission of said materials for approval to ASUS and EngSoc as required. This includes but is not limited to: department-wide newsletter, Instagram posts, event posters.

Responsible for the development and management of social media strategies, including content creation, scheduling and engagement on platforms such as Instagram.

EDIFF Coordinators (1 Physics, 1 Engineering)

Sit on the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Indigenization Facilitation Committee of the Physics Department.

Relay important EDII news to the DSC.

Support and facilitate EDII initiatives and activities in the department.

Merchandise Coordinator (1)

Oversee the creation of new designs pertaining to the Physics and Engineering Physics Departments, abiding by Queen’s trademark policies.

Oversee the ordering and distribution of said merchandise within the departments, as well as help oversee related transactions.

Professional Development Coordinator (1)

Responsible for coordinating with the Presidents, the Vice Presidents and the department to plan and facilitate industry-related events and initiatives for ENPH and PHYS students.

Responsible for coordinating with the department and Smith Engineering Corporate Relations to find speakers and alumni to participate in these industry initiatives.

Responsible for logistical planning of industry initiatives, including coordination with the department for funding and support as needed.

Mental Health Coordinator (1 Physics ONLY)

Responsible for providing students with resources to promote mental well-being

Responsible for directing major concerns to the DSC and/or the faculty.

Academic/Faculty Liaison (1)

Responsible for relaying any pertinent DSC news to the department heads and/or faculty members.

Responsible for contacting faculty with regard to upcoming events.

Advocate for their peers on academic issues.
