Project Engineer

A Project Engineer is considered the primary technical point of contact for the client and is responsible for ensuring that systems & solutions are deployed and programmed according to the project scope. A major role is to provide controlled solutions for Audio/Visual/Lighting installations. This is a cutting-edge position that provides the opportunity to work on projects of all sizes at sites all worldwide.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide the company and its clients with Show Control solutions for Audio/Visual/Lighting installations.
  • Participate in the design, development, implementation and support of AV, Control and Network systems.
  • Develop custom equipment drivers, control methodologies & architectures, and custom GUI's.
  • Plan and lead overall projects, systems testing & validation procedures, programming & scripting, and documentation efforts.
  • Store, retrieve and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
  • Monitor control systems to ensure systems operate reliably and within established performance criteria.
  • Train end users and clients.
  • Provide After Sales technical support.
  • Balance multiple projects/assignments with alacrity while aggressively meeting deadlines and expectations.
  • Self-manage assignments and work autonomously when necessary.
  • Be highly collaborative and focused on sharing details routinely and consistently with team members.
  • Demonstrate a persistent optimism and ability to navigate challenges in a way that produces value, exceeds expectations, and promotes company success.
  • Program media servers and systems to deliver large scale media experiences.
  • Apply strong control, networking, and signal path troubleshooting skills.

Requirements:

  • Advanced Control Systems Programming and Operation (especially Node-RED and scripting environments, as well as Q-SYS, Medialon, Alcorn McBride, etc.)
  • Proficient scripting abilities (e.g., Lua, JavaScript, Node.JS, SQL, etc.)
  • Networking Management, Configuration, Deployment, and Operation including VLANs, routing, QoS, IGMP, PTP (certification a plus)
  • Q-SYS Audio & Control (certification preferred)
  • Video and Presentation Systems Programming and Operation (Pixera, RealMotion, 7th Sense, PIXILAB, Disguise, Touch Designer, etc.)
  • Video processing and layering systems such as Aquilon, Barco E2, and Christie Spider
  • Large matrices such as Ross Ultrix, Grass Valley Sirius, and Evertz EQX
  • Large LED canvases and projection systems
  • IP video signal distribution protocols such as ST 2110, IPMX, SDVoE, and NDI
  • A/V systems, equipment, concepts, and technologies
  • User Interface development including some HTML and CSS knowledge
  • Office365 suite including Teams, Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • 2 to 5 years of work experience within the Audio/Visual or Software Development industries
  • Experience scripting, developing software solutions, or building user interfaces that communicate with other systems, manipulate data, or leverage database back-ends
  • Demonstrated experience with electronic control systems and signal processing; familiarity with relays and Programmable Logic Controllers is a plus
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Degree in one of the following areas of study is preferred:
    • Computer Science
    • Computer Engineering
    • Computer Programming
    • Electronics Engineering
    • Entertainment Technology/Theater
    • Video Production
  • Travel is to be expected on average 50% of the time due to the nature of the projects
